Art Gallery of Ontario

Toronto, Canada

Toronto is Canada’s largest city. It has a plethora of activities for all types of travelers. The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in downtown Toronto is one of the largest galleries in North America!

The AGO was established in 1900 as the Art Museum of Toronto. It holds over 90,000 works of art. It has undergone major renovations over the years, most notably 'Transformation AGO' from 2005 - 2008, allowing for significant growth and expansion.

The AGO holds the world’s largest collection of Canadian art; over half of its collection showcases established and emerging Canadian artists. Its collection also includes contemporary art, Western and Central African art, photography, and large collection of European masterpieces, featuring work by Peter Paul Rubens, Camille Pissarro, and Claude Monet.

The museum hosts temporary exhibits throughout the year, featuring popular artists of current and past times.
