The Art Gallery of New South Wales was established in 1871 and showcases Australian and International art. It houses a series of permanent collections and visiting exhibitions. Its permanent collections include modern and contemporary works, collections of colonial and 19th century Australian and European works, as well as galleries dedicated to Asian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Artworks.
