Experience
Maine Lobster
Maine, USA
Maine is famous for lobster. It is the number one place for lobster in the USA, and one of the most well known lobster destinations in the world!

Lobster is used in a lot of foods in New England, including bisque, lobster rolls and Lobster Thermidor. It is also, of course, served in the shell. This requires you you break apart the hard exterior to get to the sweet meat inside.
Lobster wasn’t always the delicacy it is today. In the mid-19th century, people started to develop a taste for it. But, it was originally considered food for the poor; it was even served to inmates in prison! It wasn’t until well into the 20th century that it became the high-priced delicacy it is today.
It might surprise you to know that 130 million pounds of lobster were caught in 2016 in Maine alone! We ate at three lobster places during our visit. For a more upscale experience, try Robert’s Maine Grill. For a traditional lobster dinner, where you can crack your own lobster, try Nunan’s Lobster Hut. And for a delicious lobster roll, and the best scallops you will ever eat (!), visit Reds Eats in Wiscasset.
