London is a huge metropolis that perfectly balances history, culture and the arts. Tate Modern is a modern art gallery in Southwark.



Tate Modern was established in 2000. It is a free museum and is considered to be one of the largest contemporary art museums in the world. It is part of the Tate Group, with Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives.

The galleries at Tate Modern is held over multiple floors in its east and west wing. Each wing has at least 11 rooms, and they are all filled with contemporary and modern art. Turbine Hall, the main hall which connects the two wings, features an ever-changing display of commissioned works of art.

Some of the most notable works in the permanent collection include Georges Braque’s ‘La Guitare’, Pablo Picasso’s ‘Figure das un Fauteuil’, and some works by Paul Klee.
