For over 80 years, Ted Drewes has been selling these frozen treats! Ted Sr. was a St. Louis native but, ironically, opened his first frozen custard store in Florida in 1929. He was a championship tennis player and played tennis there in the winter. In 1930, he moved his focus to St Louis. Today, Ted Drewes operates two stores at Chippewa and Grand.

The business expanded under the management of Ted Drewes Jr., proudly promoting the motto, 'Our business is Service'.

The most popular treat is ‘concrete’, created in 1959. It is so thick it is served upside down! But, on a hot summer’s day, it will melt quickly! With a multitude of absolutely delicious toppings to choose from, you can’t leave St. Louis without trying it!
